Clive completed his schooling at Union High School in Graaff Reinet, after a very short stint in the SA Navy Clive completed his Accounting Articles in East London, then studied at UPE for a Certificate in Theory of Accountancy. Clive worked for various Development Corporations before being seconded to the Transkei Tourism Board and the Decentralisation Board in 1993.
In 1996 Clive branched out to pursue his own business interests. He combined his commercial flair with his love for tourism and the Wild Coast by running and managing several Caltex garages in Umtata while - at the same time - investing time, money and energy into getting several hotels up and running again. He also served on Caltex Dealer Council and was an active member of the Umtata Rotary Club. He and the late Richard Ndangane bid for the branded marketer opportunity in 2003 and the rest (as they say) is history.
